Abstract
My interests lay in exploring the uncomfortable, squirmy aspects of the creative process, which may evoke negative associations, and how play can be used to explore and navigate the outer reaches of our comfort zones. The creative process does, indeed, squirm. It can be elusive, uncomfortable, jarring, and it sometimes makes us cringe with its boundless clichés and over-the-top, moralistic and self-aggrandizing agenda. It is folly to believe that play is innocent and that artists possess some kind of unfathomable morality that protects and enshrouds their practice.
